The St Helena Institute was founded in the UK in 1997 and aims to promote historical, anthropological, and sociological research into St Helena, Ascension Island, and Tristan da Cunha. 

The Institute's principal services are

- the provision of information on academic research and

- the provision of detailed resources for St Helena family history.
